Lifting Others Up

In the world today, we've become very accustomed to seeing people hurting others and constantly putting others down. People do these things because they feel upset by how they've been treated in the past, or because they are unhappy with their own lives. Thankfully, some people, like me see people being put down and feel motivated to do what we can to lift them up. By encouraging others and giving positive reinforcement, we can make someone's day better. Even the smallest act of kindness can change a person’s life for the better. One of my favorite poets, Maya Angelou said, “If I could give you one thought, it would be to lift someone up. Lift a stranger up - lift her up. I would ask you, mother and father, brother and sister, lovers, mother and daughter, father and son, lift someone. The very idea of lifting someone up will lift you, as well.” I think this quote is 100% spot on! The more good you do for others the better you will feel. And since “what goes around comes around”, the more encouragement you give to others, the more encouragement you will receive from others! Just think about how this week could change if we all lifted one person up and the in turn lifted someone else up! Have a spectacular week full of encouraging words and happiness!
