Over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to figure things out. What I mean by this is, I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. After a lot of thinking, I have a clearer idea of what I want to do and how I might to do it, at least to some extent. However, that said, I can’t say I’m not worried about my future. I have fears about, the most predominant one is not doing anything noteworthy or mentionable, not having an impact, not making it in the career path I want to. After talking about this with my friend Meah, she gave me some advice that I’d like to share. First of all, thinking about the future is scary, because its the unknown and we all have a fear, to some degree of the unknown, right? Second, Meah told me, “We should take it slowly, when thinking too far into the future, thats when we get frustrated”. That is also a valid point, when we think about things too far ahead int he future, we tend to overwhelm ourselves with all we think we need to do. Finally, she said, “Take it one small goal at a time”. That is the best advice! In essence what that means is, when thinking about the future or planning for the future, you should not not think about everything you need to do to get yourself where you need to be. Take it one step at a time, list out your goals one at a time so they don’t seem some overwhelming when you see what you have to do. In life, we all have to plan for our futures, theres no way around it. But, knowing that it’s perfectly alright to be a bit scared about the future, and also breaking up what you have to accomplish to get where you want to be in life, i.e. setting a list of goals, one by one, instead of all at the same time, might make the future seem a little less intimidating.
Alright, well, thats about all the time I have for this week, so until next week, take care, be safe, and goodbye everyone, have a great weekend, I’ll see you right back here next week!
